Optos is a true advance in technology. Normally patients get drops and have to sit for 20 minutes so that their pupils enlarge, allowing us to get a much better view of the back of the eye(the retina). Then after a barrage of high intensity lights, we send you home to be blurred and light sensitive for a few hours.

Now we can do a better job with a digital camera that takes a full view of the retina without drops! No waiting, no blur.

The ability to see clearly is critical to a child's academic success.

Good distance vision is important in the classroom. Most children will complain if they cannot see well far away, and fortunately this problem is easily corrected with glasses or contact lenses.

Reading skills and near point challenges are more complex problems. It takes careful analysis during your child's annual eye examination. Why risk your child falling behind in class because of a near point problem?

Low Vision Service

Our Low Vision Service is an attempt to help those patients with reduced acuity. They may have macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy. Some have done poorly after cataract surgery or simply can't get the magnification they require from normal eyewear. We have a large collection of optical devices that produce the custom vision enhancement that those with diminished vision require. These patients require a great deal of time in the office and we have a special room set aside for evaluation and training. These evaluations are usually covered by medicare and other insurance plans.

High Tech- Exam Screening

Our state of the art "Screening Room" has a number of exam stations on a rotating table that insures easy access for anyone from children to those in wheelchairs. Each stations collects important data such as distance and near acuities, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and auto refraction. This last step uses a computer to print out a glasses presciption without asking any questions. Imagine the value to the Doctor when evaluating children or those with various disabilites. We can even take blood pressures in this area!

Laser Vision Correction

Everyone is curious over the newest laser techniques and almost everyone knows "someone" who has been a success story. While we actively refer to highly qualified surgeons for this procedure and follow these patients afterwards during their post-operative period, we also take our role very seriously in counseling the serious patient. Dr. Ozer has had Lasik to correct his nearsightedness. Not everyone is a good candidate and you need to know clearly the potential pitfalls of this generally successful surgery.

We accept most 3rd party insurance plans and are quite well known in the community for our reasonable fees for those patients without eyecare insurance.

Contact Lenses

Perhaps nothing distinguishes us more from the typical eyecare practice than our attention to our contact lens patients. We specialize in those "hard to fit" patients. Don't let astigmatism, bifocals, dry eye, or any of the other excuses given for previous failures stop you from trying our contact lens department. You never will be "stuck" with lenses that don't perform to your expectations.

Precision Corneal Molding

This is a technique that is becoming more popular for reducing or eliminating nearsightedness without surgery.
